About the Role The community educator will work in collaboration with the Mental Health Education Team Leader and Senior Psychiatric Nurse in an effort to support staff across SVMH service, ensuring high standards education programs are developed to promote best practice with a focus on strengths-based recovery.
Provide supervision and advice to undergraduates, graduate, post graduate nurses in relation to their academic progress and course regulations.
Contribute to the development and evaluation of training programs for undergraduates, postgraduates, RPNs and allied health as necessary.
Contribute to the on-going development of nursing education and practice by having input to internal and external committees and working parties
Classifications for this position will range from NP75-NP77
Your Contribution
Degree or postgraduate diploma in psychiatric/mental health nursing
Completed or working towards a higher degree in nursing or relevant area
Desirable: Completed or working towards a Certificate 4 Training and Assessment or equivalent
Demonstrated minimum 5 years' experience in clinical leadership and mental health service provision within community mental health settings

Two community mental health services in Kew, (Hawthorn clinic) and East Melbourne (Clarendon clinic). Community mental health services comprise the Triage and Crisis assessment and Treatment (CAT) service, Extended Triage and The Primary Intervention Care Team (PICT) and HOPE (Suicide Prevention), Continuing Care (CCT), Mobile Support and Treatment (MST) and Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) services.
